Also "cyber criminals" are not some kind of impossible new foe, the dragnet approach is not needed to catch them. We've been catching hackers using good old police work for three generations.

While PRISM disturbs me greatly, I would not be opposed to discussions and proceedings aimed at making it and programs/directives similar to it more palatable without gimping their purposes or stepping on due process. Naturally it's a two way street, the public needs to be informed about technology in general (computer illiteracy is inexcusable at this point), and the gov't needs to take steps to ensure their programs aren't COINTELPRO replicas in the making.

Okay so I decided to impose upon myself, a project in which I attempt to re-sprite Punch-Out!! (NES) frame by frame. The spriting part's not that bad, but importing is. Anyways, long story short, is there another way to import my sprites without re-drawing them in the layer editor? Or... is there anyone here with the know-how to do it then?

I make an awesome pumpkin curry in the fall. I never made curry before it and it turns out great every year except for that one time I made it too spicy. I'm thinking these days the best way to deal with these cases would be going straight to the cops (unless you leave in one of those shitty backwater places where the cops are completely fucking lazy and let "kids decide between themselves"). Bullying seems to be taken more seriously nowadays, with anti-bullying laws and stuff (I don't even live in the u.s., but my country seems to be going the same way).

I had both trouble with bullies and was a douche to people who didn't deserve back in school (yeah I can't be sorry enough), and I can 100% bullshit on beign all about "getting a certain reaction". No, it's just plain douchery.

Specially considering how far bullying can go nowadays - I've seen news recently of rape on kids under ten in one occasion, twelve on other - "playing dead" doesn't sound like will help much either. Going to the cops might give you some shit, but if no one else takes you seriously and the bullying won't stop anyway, might as well try to prevent it from getting too worse and prosecuting some bastards in the process I guess.

So frustrating to be caught between all this. On the one hand obviously I support Travyon and his family. On the other hand, I myself had not even heard about the part where Travyon went back and provoked Zimmerman. None of this should have happened for multiple reasons, and Travyon should not have been killed over something so trivial and pointless. But now that everything's on the table, it's impossible to reconcile the needs of equality with the actions Travyon took. I still support him and his family, but while Zimmerman is an offensive piece of shit, Trayvon ultimately walked back into a dangerous situation and though he has the right to be unmolested for his skin color, the thing is that legal rights lag behind reality and no amount of rights could defend him from attacking a guy with a gun.

There's no victory here either way.

I finally figured out the secret to doing well in school: Not having any extra shit on your mind.

Back when I had no hobbies and no friends I was a straight-A student, because I was focused. Ever since I got a backlog, discovered the internet, and made friends I haven't been able to accomplish shit. I'm going to spend the Summer beating as many games, reading as many books, and watching as many shows/movies on my backlog as possible in order to prep me for Fall.

You've figured out the right cause, but I think your solution isn't going to work because the lizard part of your brain that's interested in having fun or doing things that are personally fulfilling doesn't give a shit about what happened months ago. I'm not saying "don't spend your summer having fun," but I don't think it's going to make school any easier in the fall.

The best thing you can do is probably to commit to a program like GTD, or start scheduling your life. Include stuff you like to do as part of the schedule, because that stuff is legitimately important to your mental well-being, but make sure that the amount of time you spend on the other stuff you need to do doesn't suffer.
