Didn't see a thread for this, and just saw this video review: And it sounds like a game I've been waiting to be made.Hey, you're being hunted by a dark unknown evil in a creepy place you've no memory of getting into. How do you fight it? YOU DON'T. NO WEAPONS, NO FLASHLIGHT, INSANITY HIDIN' IN SHADOWS ONLY.Sounds like good times. Hope it lives up to the hype.
OH! And apparently Steam has a free Demo for it. Gonna check that out.http://store.steampowered.com/app/57300/Wanna come with?
I forgot I preordered this until it turned up in my gamelistshould be good, its the penumbra guys
I was pretty hyped for it until I played the demo pre-full release. It wasn't bad, but for some reason it didn't wow me as much as I thought it was going to. I'll still buy it when I finish some other stuff since I always enjoy playing any survival horror game but there's never enough of them being released.
>>92763 >its the penumbra guysWhich I didn't find out till after I played it, which is probably for the best. Because that would have hampered my desire to try it out.But it really seems like they're learning and dedicated to fixing what made their previous games a bit more hit or miss to some people, while keeping what they did right.
I never played the first one because I'm pussy enough to not enjoy the cowering.
If you want more survival horror games done RIGHT, please actually pay for them:http://www.bluesnews.com/s/114332/amnesia-postmortemThis actually made me go ahead and buy the game as I type this. That demo rocked, and I'd like them to do more games since it shows that they've learned how to improve on past failures/successes.
>>93925I'm really torn. On the one hand, this looks like an amazing game and I really do want to give them my money, help support the creation of awesome games like this. But on the other hand, I know that there's no way I'll ever actually finish it, I'm too big of a pansy, and money is kinda tight right now.
>>93925 I'm not going to be guilt tripped into buying a game I don't want.
>>93929If you don't want the game, then that's not really the same issue.
I'm to pussy for this!I'll just lets play it.Maybe your lets play, Kosh!
>>93928I bought it. One day I may actually finish it, or even play it. But for now, I'm a big fucking wimp.
>>93929 >>93937 Right, I was more talking to folks who'd downloaded it online w/o paying.
I would love to buy and play this, but my computer is like 7 years old. I second someone making a Let's Play from this.
I find when I am defenseless I am much more prone to being annoyed than frightened. I'll probably try it out one day, I'm sure, but I'm also relatively sure I'll prefer Penumbra and Call of Cthulhu.
>>94046Samefag, just cleared the water section and ended the demo. A little tense, mostly because I didn't feel like starting the shitty sequence over again, not terribly scary, except for when the game rapes your camera and decides you need to do a 180 degree spin to look at a door that wouldn't otherwise bother you.Still it's cool and atmospheric, and I'll probably buy it one day. Too many releases out at the moment for me to justify buying a game I will make very slow progress in because I hate being annoyed by it, even if it's only $20.I like it, though, don't get me wrong, I just think the negatives are easier to pronounce than the positives. But it comes from a long tradition of games that are scary by virtue the main character is a Lovecraftian pussy who has a mental breakdown at the first sound or sight of danger.
Its good to know that Mysh's chilldern are still around. Also my Let's play of choide!
>>94245Ohhh, the demo isn't the same as the actual game. Excellent, this looks much better than shoving you into that crappy water sequence.
The guys who made this are from the same Uni i got to. my teacher helped make the game. I cant stress how awesome these guys are, they really poured their all into it.
