...So uh, since we have a Magic thread...Anyone else play Yu-Gi-Oh?...No?
I actually just bought Reverse of Arcadia today. Buying the latest World Championship game is much cheaper than shelling out for cards.I'm gettin' annoyed by all the sound effects when you move the cursor during duels, though.
>>86059You should grab YVD. It's cheaper than all of them, being free, and you play against competent people instead of braindead NPCs.Or have the NPCs stopped being braindead? I dunno I haven't played a World Championship game since '05.
>>86063 And you should GRAB YOUR SEATS
MOTHERFUCKING GODDAMN STEALTH MISSIONS
I have a dual disk...Yeah...
>>86063WFC, man.
I loved WC2008, got me through waiting between classes back in my freshman year. Also, lol online cheating for massive points.I had wanted to get the new one, has anyone played it?
>>861262010, Reverse of Arcadia it's called.
Since we're on the topic of the videogames:>Tag Team battles
>>86142Man, why you gotta pair me up with Dark Panther by default when all the Neo-Spacian cards take a whole lot of effort to unlock.
Nope. Just a big box of cards sitting next to the big box of pokemon and Digimon cards and the bog box of World of Warcraft cards.
>>86207Also while I can make Elemental Heroes work, I can't make Neo-Spacians work at all. It'd be more helpful if any of them were capable of holding up on their own.
>>86214Er, except the Mole. He's pretty good at that.
>>86214One time I made a Neo-Spacian/Destiny Hero hybrid deck that concentrated on fusion summoning Divine Neos or Storm Neos. It worked pretty reliably, but I can't really recall the decklist. But it might be an idea in which direction to go.
>every game forces you to start from scratchWell that sucks, but I can handle it-->it takes a ridiculous amount of time to unlock the good/fun archetypesFFFFFFUUUUUUUU
>>86462I really wish I could use Comrade Swordsman. A friend of mine always drew the fucker at exactly the right times to kill some monster I just spent like 7 cards getting out some way or another, and now I detest it and refuse to use it, despite its usefulness.
>>86462I actually had a lot of luck on that point in Reverse of Arcadia. The first two structure decks I unlocked were Zombie Madness and Zombie World. It was pretty much rape from then on. Or at least it was really, really fast and easy to get to the point where you unlock Lightsworns.
>>86462I do love me some cheat codes.
>>86462You just gotta defeat everyone in story mode 5 times each to unlock trainers in world championship mode you also have to beat 5 times each and also tournament modes you have to win 5 times each....Whatever happened to just getting all the sets from finishing the story mode??
AUGH WHY DO VOLCANICS SUCK SO MUCH. Some of the cards are great, especially Rocket and Doomfire, but goddamn do most of the other ones bite ass. It's so hard to make a deck I'm satisfied with while using them as a base. But I love Volcanic Doomfire so very much, so I'm just going to have to keep trying!
>>86207Getting paired up with bad decks isn't as bad as just the A.I. taking every opportunity to go full retard on you, making it essentially 3 vs. 1.Yes, please do waste that Icarus Attack on two entirely insignificant monsters, instead of destroying that Gravity Bind!
I used to. Got a Thousand Eyes Restrict once.I don't know WHERE the cards are now.
I have a deck floating around. Used to play against my cousin. My strategy was to basically win via ragequit.
Oh Lightsworns. I couldn't have finished the final battle(s) of WC09 without you.
>>87315Trolldecks are the most fun to make.>>87577Gah, I hate the Lightsworns for how overused they are, but love them for how overpowered they are. So torn.
>>87577Personally I like the way Dark World plays better.
>>87315If I remember correctly, there was one card that was particularly good at that because it made everything but the amount of life points basically start over. And you can keep drawing it.The artwork was some kind of plant construct.I think it might have been banned by now.
>>87588http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fiber_Jar
>>87597Yeah, that's it. Also, this thing:http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Cyber_Jar
I may need to work on my Spell Counter deck some more.
>>87877Field destruction is your friend.
>>87905Maybe I need more than one tuner.
>>88007Yeah, Tuners are generally your friends.I once made a deck revolving entirely around Synchro Summoning at least once every other turn. It wasn't my favorite to play, but it worked out pretty well. And being able to get out Nukedragon whenever you feel like it is always a good thing.
>>88011Yes, I probably need more Synchro Monsters, too.Chaos Sorcerer used to be pretty cool, but people seem to be able to readily summon stronger monsters nowadays.I can still use his effect when I summon him, but what I really need to use him now for Level 8 Synchro Summoning.
>>88018I typically run a Black Rose Dragon, 3 Stardust Dragons, 3 Thought Ruler Archfiends, and whatever else suits the deck, removing Thought Rulers and Stardusts as required.Never remove Black Rose though. Never.
>>88011>Nukedragon>think that is an actual card>google it
http://www.kaibacorporation.com/index.phpI found a thing. It's neat. You guys should get it maybe?
>>88683I don't really understand the purpose of this site. But browsing the multiplayer games section made me wonder how Atem could successfully blow someone up while playing Connect 4.
>>88694If you register, you can download a pretty neato Yu-Gi-Oh simulator.I still prefer YVD, but that one has a better UI.
I kinda wanted to get WC2010, but I need to know how soon we are expecting WC2011.
>>88756RoA is too similar to Stardust Accelerator in terms of available cards and banlists. If you have SA, you should wait for WC2011 (like me).
>have Armor Master and Vayu out>Crow (tag partner) tributes the Armor Master to Icarus AttackAAARGRRGR! It's like that fucking dickhead wants us to lose!!
>>88964How are the promo cards it comes with.
I bought a booster tin pack for the hell of it, got meh cards, but notice these things come with sleeves now. I decided I might as well use them, but there appear to only be 39 of them.Did I lose one, or did they really just do this??
>Playing RoA story mode>"Oh hey, what an adorable little girl! I'll challenge her.">"Miracle Mimic? What a cute name. This is going to be adorable.">WHEN SUDDENLY, DARKNESS NEOSPHERE>SKY SCOURGE ENRISE AND NORLERAS>FUCKING WHATSHE BEAT ME FIVE TIMES IN A ROW, CHRIST.
>>90448If I remember my Yugioh vidya, that just means she has to do the same to a few other PCs, then she can rank up to the next set of opponents.
>>89519They jipped you. Call em up, complain, get a pack for free. Also, the new ban list is bullshit.
>>90521Ah, they put Rescue Cat on ban.Funny how a somewhat old card suddenly becomes pretty strong thanks to new cards.
Hm, Brain Control AND Heavy Storm banned.I get Brain Control, people are controlling and syncing my monsters all the time, but Heavy Storm is interesting.
>Heavy Storm ForbiddenFINALLY, AFTER TEN THOUSAND YEARS, IT'S TIME TO CONQUER EARTH!>Dark Hole LimitedOH FUCK THAT NOISE I'M GOING BACK TO MY CRATER
>>90521>Also, the new ban list is bullshit.I was okay with everything except Rescue Cat being banned, and Snipe Hunter only being semi-limited. That thing is broken as fuck(not really but DAMN it seems like it)
>>90547Well Synchro does allow for lots of strong monsters to come out relatively easy. Maybe Dark Hole will even the playing field a bit.
>>90593Most of the strategies I employ don't really care about field population. Especially not my Macro Cosmos deck, who was really excited to see Heavy Storm leave.
>>90597All the more for my Elemental Hero Prisma/Dark Magic Attack combo.
>>90575>>Monster Reborn is no longer forbidden
I used to play this years ago, back in high school. Me and my bros would play on the back of the bus going home. I once beat my friend after a really long game by forcing him to discard his hand and draw a new one when he didn't have enough cards left. It was epic.Anyone else have epic!win stories they'd like to share?
>>90790I once finished a duel with 80,000 life points. How's that?
>>90790>I once beat my friend after a really long game by forcing him to discard his hand and draw a new one when he didn't have enough cards left. It was epic. Isn't that a semi-common way to win? Hell, that even happened in the show at least one time.>>90804Are you saying you won a game where both sides started with 80,000 Life Points or you started at the standard 8,000 (it's still 8,000 isn't it?) and raised yours to ten times that much by the end of the match?
>>90790I once had a Lava Golem on my side of the field, with Clear World in effect, meaning I was taking 2000 damage per turn, Mask of Restrict in play, meaning I couldn't tribute it, and my own fucking Gravity Bind in play, meaning I couldn't even harvest his attack points for my personal use.All of these cards were put into play while we both still had 8000 lifepoints. All of these cards stayed in play until the end of the duel.I still won.My opponent wasn't even disappointed, we were both laughing too hard by the end to bother trash-talking, except for us both going, "THAT WAS SOME BULLSHIT" in between breaths.Fun times.
>>90790I was playing one of the DS-games against my friend. No idea which edition.I have 0 cards on the field.Opponent attacks directlyI special summon Gorz, Emmisary of DarknessOpponent ends turnI normal-summon a random weak fiend-type monsterI use premature burial to bring back a fiend-type monster from the graveyardI Tribute Gorz and the two fiend-type monsters to special summon Raviel, Lord of PhantasmsI remove Gorz and two other fiend-type monsters from my graveyard to special summon Dark NecrofearI use Dimension Fusion, pay 2000 lifepoints and special summon the monsters I removed for Dark NecrofearMy field is full of monsters while my opponent only has oneI seriously felt like Kira for a moment, with every single plan I'd made sliding perfectly into place.
>>90848The second one there. I gained 72,000 Life Points during the course of a match.
>>90848 He was really good and I was fairly new to the game, and I had never beaten him before. Heck, I'm not sure I had ever properly won a match before that. So it was more, y'know, personally epic. For me.More stories though! These are good so far.
>>90874OK, I've got to hear how this happened.
>>90921Macro Cosmos, two Soul Absorptions in play. I got to use Needle Worm's affect five or six times thanks to Morphing Jar #2.And then one D.D. Dynamite equaled 9000 points of damage.
I miss when the cards would tell stories through their artwork.
>>92537I really would like it if all the cards had flavor text. Instead we just have to figure out implied shit.
>>92538YES.THIS.THIS IS MY ONE PROBLEM WITH YU-GI-OH.There should be something like the Mass Effect codex online. Because gamers and fans alike would eat that shit up.
You guys should go play Magic, if you want stories with your card games.
>>92558We could always just start a huge fan project. I doubt Konami would care. Similarly, I doubt so will many Yu-Gi-Oh fans.
>>92560I would play the SHIT out of a MTG DS TCG.
>>92566A longer version of Duel of the Planeswalkers for the DS would be awesome.
>>90766Problem friend?
I made this, because I am a loser.
>>94487Actually, neither Fusion Summoning nor Synchro Summoning actually counts as tributing monsters, so that's still fair game.
>>94489Someone lied to me. And as a result I've been dicking over a lot of people.
>>94489You can even use Sheep Tokens for a Synchro Summon or Toon Summon!Provided you aren't doing it the turn you summoned them, of course.
>>94492Fox Fire is good for Synchro Summoning, too, as he is nefariously difficult to keep down.My favorite card~
