>>62472 Previous thread.
Fixed the spoiler mistake.
what a nice peptalk, paz
>>79799Paz, you awesome.>>79800Ooo, that's cool!
>I-I could never do that!I'm looking forward to delicious irony.
>>79842I hope you're right about that. Fine, I'm a misanthropic bastard etc., but if the true point of this story segment turns out to be "Things are better than you think! You must keep a positive attitude", I'll be kind of let down. But oh well!
>>79866I think the moral is more along the lines of "just because the system sucks is no excuse to be a pessimistic donothing that takes potshots at people who try to do good"
>>79945That's a valid point, but Kat's going through an interesting moral slump here--and I don't want it concluded too quickly, or with any moral at all. It's too simple, too pat. I'd like to see her driven and working towards goals, but a little more wary than she was before.
>>79799There is no such thing as a beautiful pigeon.
>Have you had any interesting dreams recently?>Yes. My dad found some strange alcohol in a series of interconnecting tubes that screw together and sold the contents to a Chinese guy but demanded payment in the form of a scrap of paper with "Ironman" written on it many times. I figured it was some Inception shit going on.
>>80033Well done. I haven't laughed that hard for a while.
>>80110>My dad found some strange alcohol
>>80110What? Would I get this if I read the comic?
>>80144its just a weird dream mang
>>80149But did it really happen or was it said in the comic?
>>80150dude who makes the comic has a formspring where ppl ask him questions
>>80151Ah
>>80152but feel free to give the comic a shot too
>Oh!
>>80448Did Kat just get John Stewart-vision?
"KAT...what have you done!?""I made him..better"
>>80448Wow, someone on regular /co/ totally called that the pidgeons organic structures would help inspire Kat in her robotics work like, a whole week ago.
I really like that fifth panel.
"I have it! I'm going to build pigeons! Flocks and flocks of robotic pigeons, that will blacken the skies with my vengeance and crap greek fire all over the Court! Paz, thank you SO MUCH!"
So Paz is the student who can talk to animals. That makes her work double creepy really.
>>80466It really does, unless mice are just too simple-minded to formulate or ask any questions. I have no strong feelings about animal testing. But the minute mice start saying stuff like "Other mice get to do the maze and the cheese...I don't like the needles, they hurt and the stuff in them makes me bite myself," that's when I hang up my apron, go home and drink myself into a stupor.
"I'D KILL A KITTEN TO SAVE A HUMAN BEING"
>>80466That's kinda already been explained. The Court's not going to halt testing, but Paz can at least make it better for the mice, so she does what she can within her abilities. It might be easier for her to simply shut out the problem, or oppose it from without, but she's opting to try and better the situation from within. If anything, the fact that she can communicate with animals means she takes all this more personally because she understands them in a way most other people can't.
Thats a very happy lightbulb.>>80539Maybe she can talk to them, but they only have to say what we normally would assume mice have to say with their intelligence.Sort of like talking dogs that just go "Hey!"
Anything that grants sentience to things that normally don't have it and then plonks them back into a realistic world is incredibly dystopian.Yes I watched Toy Story 3 last night. I'm still thinking through the implications.
>>80826paz isnt granting sentience, just communicatingor is this more an issue with the uh setting's choice to give small animals the ability to have thoughts coherent enough to be communicated
>>80829Well, 'coherent' doesn't automatically mean 'intelligent'. Something like "hungry, give food" is understandable, but not especially advanced.
>>80830
>>80779That's Kat's symbol, just like the Antimony symbol is Annie's. You can see it on the second and third treatises.http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=295http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=560
"DOC-TOR PAZ"NO "DEE-COMM-ISH" WE3.
>This is the only Gunnerkrigg fanfic I will readShould we be so lucky?
>>8082yes I meant the setting. Toy story or Gunnerkrigg or any such mileu where things are more or less like reality but with extra sentients. It's fucking terrible, really. Real reality is bad enough
>>80873Someone write it.
>>80875animals can already feel pain in real life mang
>>80873
>>81097About time someone did some sexy Bowhite fanart. In fact, there's a lack of Bobwhite fanart in general.
>>81156Speaking of Bobwhite in a Gunnerkrigg thread, anyone notice anything in the first panel?
>>81175Annie's plushie! Before being possessed by Reynardine.
Dang it Bobby.
>>81554Too bad Bobby isn't going to spill the beans about why the bots call her an "angel".
>>81091>animals can already feel pain in real life mangWhich is why I said "real reality is bad enough"
We have Paz's last name.
>>82355Oh poo. I like her longer hairstyle.Well at least she seems to be getting back to her old self.
>>82355Andrei would be pleased with Kat's short hair.>>82356I liked her longer hair too, but her short hair is also nice.
>>82356I liked her long hair, too. But, the author has given us a personality trait in exchange for it; we now know that when Kat lets her hair grow out, she's upset and depressed.
Hmm... No update yet.
And now we have an origin story.
>>83147Look, someone has to say it, so I'll say it.Remember when Calvin found the little baby raccoon?Don't get your hopes up, is all I'm sayin'.
>>83148But we already see city face alive and well.
>It was City Face all along!
Does this mean that it is now canon that Zimmy talks to pidgeons?
Aww I thought Kat looked pretty with the long hair :(Oh well, City Face makes everything better!
City Face is the best name.
>>83137Oh Kat. :3Also, she looks more grown up.>>83160That always has been canon.
Aaaaand chapter's over.
>>83979Don't get me wrong, I love this comic to death, but man, what a non-event of a chapter.
I thought this chapter would be more dark than I expected. Maybe this is just a cool-down chapter after seeing THIS?
>>83979
Oh guys, haven't you ever heard of the calm before the storm? With everything nice and quiet and going good, something is about to blow up.
>>84120ha ha yeah right
>>84120What about the calm after the storm?
I'd like something with Parley and Smitty next chapter. Haven't seen them in a while.
>>84120Haven't you learned? There are no storms in this comic.Shit is perpetually unreal.
>>84382As much as I love those two, I'm dying to know to what the Suicide Fairies are up.No pun intended there.
Bonus page is a super fun page about pigeons! Show your friends!
>>84574That page was informative and cheery until that last bit which was a glimpse into the terrifying madness that lies at the center of Mr. Siddel.
>>84594I know, isn't it great?
Hey, it's Jeanne!
(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)
>>85137Shit has a certain probability of being about to get real. Maybe.
>>85164At least a 70/30 chance.
>>85192That's in favor of it not getting real right?
>>85164I hope so.
Is this stuff just as confusing when you're into it? Because I used to read this but I'm not sure if I should catch up or not.
>>85207Re-reading usually clears up a lot of confusion.
Time for a fan art dump.
This artist really likes Parley.Who can blame him?
>>86236Merge and form Devastator!
>>85137Looks kind of like Aisling.
>>86233Well, it's MK.No one will blame him.
>>85154>(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST) :[ im sure it was meant in jest :[
Model /b/, yes?
Crazy theory time!At the beginning I though Annie was practicing with the blinker, but after seen better the page I was wondering: does the stone is being "called" by it's original owner?
>>86294Things are gonna get crazy.
>>86294Students aren't really allowed to exit the Court so she has probably thrown the stone as a way to scout ahead or get her aether spirit there. She is going to deal with the non-sucky ghost this chapter.
;_;
>>86278Oh, I larfed.
>>86302Dammit Red!
Sweet callback!
>>86840Coyote taught her how to move things with her spirit. Can't she drop it over the edge herself?
>>86840DAT ART EVOLUTION.
>>86864maybe she can't move the stone directly or indirectly idk
but wait she was moving it when she was in the boat shitfuck
>>86874Maybe they are worried the court would detect the aether intrusion on the patch of land in front of the gates'
So, how would you solve this puzzle?Me?Tie the stone with some string, hold onto one end to it, throw so it clears the edge and then let go when the stone is dangling straight down.
but then you wouldnt get to show off your robot making skills
>>86933String might break when it becomes taut or it might make the blinker stone too heavy. But hey, what do I know?
>>86874That's because she used the blinker for doing that.I guess she hasn't learned enough tricks yet.
Argh I am really bad at remembering to check on this consistently! Caught up AGAIN, and so so happy to see Kat not being a butt anymore.
Whoops.
>>87273I love how nobody even tells him what the desired outcome is. Annie just assumes he'll make the shot.
Smitty's powers are on the fritz. Your powers are supposed to make things boring, Smitty! One-shotting a bird in midair is not boring!
>>87273Oh, I get it, hits the bird and falls straight down.
>>87304the wonders of science
ahahaha, Smitty has the best powers. I laughed so hard at the last panels.
>>87273Oh God why can't I stop laughing
Thread on /co/ today was kind of surprisingly good. And what does /co/ get for good GC threads? That's right.
>>87411wow they were good today. thats not too frequent. i guess the random trolling moved on to homestuck now.this is awesome though and im happy that they cooperated enough to warrent its creation
>>87411HHNNNNNNGIf I knew that the Gunnerhtread was going to be good today, I should have took today free from work.
>>87433I suppose it's too much to hope someone archived it.
>>87458It wasn't THAT good. Just you know, some actual civil discussion for once.
>>87460That's cause Summer is ending.
>>87507Oh, you mean the summer that started two years ago. Good to know.
>What do Zimmy's parents think of her freaky eyes?>They don't remember.
>>87864We'll never know, because she ate them.
>>87935nah
>>88023:3
Also, SSSHIIIT
>>88027Batten down the Hatches cause shits gonna get real in a hurry.
>>88033>shit get real>gunnerkriggi dunno maaan...
>>88027And then a skeleton popped out.Sorry, had to.Well... I wasn't expecting that.
>Punching Status Finale: It was a good punch. Got all my work done. Blood everywhere.Sometimes Siddell has the weirdest damn tweets.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
>>88562Y'know, when I saw the previous comic I thought: "Going to that place in physical form was dangerous enough, but going in spirit form has to be worse. You do not want to go up against an angry ghost on its home turf."
>>88562 >>88565Yeah, suddenly the depth of what a hasty idea this was is sinking in, and I feel silly for not realizing it sooner.
>>88035>>88562Still Feel that way?
So this is pretty cool. I think I might have enough Gunnerkrigg prints already though.
>>89150Whoah whoah whoah. Is... Is there a link?Because I wouldn't mind owning one of those.
>>89150Woahhh. Didn't notice the skull till I saw it in thumbnail.
>>89163Tom just mentioned it on twitter, so no link yet, but he sounds pretty definite about selling them.
>>89150Man, that's awesome! But...wait, who's that tiny man under the tapestry?
>>89225One of Diego's robots. And the shadowy figure with the big round "eyes" must be Diego. Does that leave Baldy there as her beloved that went to live in the forest?>>89165OH DAMN.
Guess who!
>>89257Poor girl just teleported in from the 1980's.
>>89258I was just about to say that!Anyway, yay, time for some Parley/Smitty ship teasing while Annie's in danger.
Okay Parley? Hi, we need you to go swordfight with a ghost.
>>89257 >>89258I looooooooove 80's fashion, so naturally I think she looks neat. Plus, it's Parley. She can wear anything and look awesome.
Oh boy, these three are gonna feel like jerks when they get done yammering at each other and notice Carver gurgling and dying on the ground.
So was Parley thinking about Smitty while chewing on popcorn, maybe watching a movie, and that caused her to teleport there?
DAT PARLEY
>>89298Instilling order where there is none.Parley thinkin' about Smitty, Smitty thinkin' about Parley. <3Fuck this comic, it's turning me into a shipperfaggot.
>>89310Damnit man I just came over here to post that.Anyhow DAT PARLEY
>>89311I though that it was Homestuck the oen who was making you a shipper.>>89312Ninja'd. But yeah. DAT PARLEY indeed.
Maybe ghost-Jeanne just wants some answers. Annie does keep snooping around her front yard: "OK kid, what are you up to?"Or maybe Jeanne wants to be released from the riverbank and guided to the afterlife--Annie can *possibly* do that, it depends on how securely the Court creeps bound her there.
>>89416Jeanne was killed and affixed there for a reason, I think. It may have been an evil act, but I'm betting there was some "greater good", beneficial reason for it. So if Annie sets the ghost free, that's going to delete someone's System32 folder, and the present Court brains may not even know how to fix it. And the more I think about that, the more I want to see it happen.
>>89257so, when does someone photoshop parley to have been masturbating?
>>89528Go back to /pco/That gunnerthread needs more love. ;__;
Parley was obviously watching Dirty Dancing and put on the fitting gear for that. No wonder she teleported to Smitty, then.
From this morning's thread.
>>89573HHNNNNG
>>89573>FlashdanceAh, thanks for reminding me. I nearly forgot that this ad existed.
>>89573wheres that one where she was clearly just in the bath touching herself, then suddenly on smittys bed
The last panel is intriguing. I mean, Parley has many fine qualities, but "spiritually sensitive" isn't one of them.
I wonder if Parley just teleported to where Annie is, and that's why she looks so surprised.
>>90076The Blinkstone may be boosting the signal for her too.
>>90091Or maybe she just realized what Kat was getting at.Seriously, though, the difference in mood between what's happening on different levels of reality here is pretty awesome. Feels like the setup for a pretty bad thing happening.
>>90091I'm hoping for this, or at least something similar, like realizing what the hell she's doing. it could help develop her powers more.
naw, shes probably just noticing that carver's body has gone cold and will now topple over
>>89896Posted on the /pco/ thread.
So I guess these are hopefully going to be real things soon for everyone.
>>90559Nice!I would like one.
>wh-what's going on?!Good question!
also oh wow
>Any opinion on Gorillaz? Something about your art (especially your self-portrait) seems vaguely reminiscent of them, but that might just be me being dumb.>I enjoyed their first album. Also I really like Jamie HewlettAnd I wrote him off about that because he said that he didn't have the LATEST album. How silly of me.
>>90709...OF COURSE!She's attracted to Parley's strong feelings of love, since love is both what killed her and what she was grieving over up until her death!Antimony confirmed for being unable to love.
>>90709Damn! This is even weirder than I hoped it would be. >>90729That's probably it! I was thinking Parley had some kind of magic pendant on under her sweater, but no, it's a glowing Valentine-shaped heart. And she was just watching a romantic movie, so-o-o.
>>90864Couldn't see the heart at first with my monitor settings, but yeah, there it is.
Jeanne still has hold of the blinker stone, but she just let go of her sword. C'mon Parley, pick that thing up and defend yourself!
so how does using a blinker stone work if you do not have long hair
>>90950flowy magic clothesbut what if youre NAKED?
>>90967Flowey magical pubes. But what if you SHAVED?
>>91035Flowey magical nosehairs. But what if you lost your nose in a freak weaving accident?
>>91067Flowy magical eyebrows! But what if you blew them off with a firecracker?
>>91071Flower magical eyelashes. But what if you lost them because of the chemo?
Combo breaker.I think if a bald person went into the ether it would just elongate their bald.
so bald
<3
>>91367Ah, so she was easy with the green .
so does this mean ghost jeanne is trying to smooch on parley while this flashback is going onbecause that is what is happening in my mind
Aha, backstory! Beautiful art, too.
Suddenly I am reminded of Courtney Crumrin.
>>91374Really? I'm thinkin' Camelot 3000....Knife fight, then?OH DID YOU SEE THIS DAAAAAYAMN
>>91367That's......that's not Coyote's Elf Form is it?
>>91380Naw, Coyote knows how to make an entrance.
In my experience with fiction its usually a really good idea to back the fuck away from wanting spirits. It that thing still has wants of a physical nature neither of those ladies are safe.
>>91384So you're saying George will get ghost possessed and then have her way with Smitty. Jeanne will then go on to her eternal rest, having gotten laid one last time.
>>91385
>>91385Pretty much, if its just the desires that end up becoming the possessing force melding with the already stimulated romantic feelings. If its a personality possession based upon the feelings then there is a good chance she'll run off into the woods in search of her lover and if given chase could end like the previous type or if despair comes into play...things could get dangerous for both parties involved. She did have quite a bit of anger pent up before the end.
well, that would definitely explain why she liked the forest so much.
This new strip is sexy, yet unsettling. Unsexttling.
>>91395She was addicted to green shafts
>>91367She only likes him because his hair goes up.In all seriousness, I was not expecting to find Jeanne staring at me while unbuttoning her jacket today. I am twelve and what is this.
>>91409Bet she was all kinds of horny and screwing anything that could support a penis..with the exception of Diego
I wonder how this page would have been received differently on /co/ if Jean the swordsman were meeting up with a lovely elven lady. Which would make Diego... I don't think there's a feminine name equivalent for Diego? She'd probably be despised more than Diego for sacrificing Jean, though Jean would possibly come off as an even greater douche than Jeanne did for insulting Dieg...a and breaking her gifts.
heh
>>91456So "nothing happens" is the new hate-manta for GC now?
>>91460i thought it was sort of a jokewell, in that instance anyway
>>91460It appeared some time before the "gunnershit fail" thing, and it realy began like kind of a joke.I don't know if it's the new wayt to troll.
heh heh
for an instant (before I actually looked at the bottom of the page) I thought the green figure was a beautiful elf/nymph/sprite/whatthefuckever girl, and it would be revealed that jeanne had been engaging in interspecies lesbianism. Then I realized it was just a douchebag with some chinscruff and I was dissapointed.
>>91699if it had been that then her fate would have some interesting overtones for other pairings in this
>>91367This is hot.
Until now, I've been thinking about this situation as "Holy shit, evil ghost, how will they fight her?" It just now occurred to me that Parley is experiencing Jeanne's memories of love and desire, and while Parley seems a bit derp about those things, this must be like the proverbial smack with a clue-by-four. When they get out of this situation, I think Parley is going to walk up to Smitty, sling him over one shoulder, and pack him off to her room.
>>91926why sling over shoulder when you can teleport
>>91926They might very well smooch, but I'd be really surprised if Tom actually went so far as to imply impending sexy shenanigans.
>>91927TACKLE BAMF!!!!
>>91928>I'd be really surprised if Tom actually went so far as to imply impending sexy shenanigans.Well, if he did it once >>91367 , it might happen again.
>>91378Now you are noticing that this print has an optical illusion.
http://twitter.com/gunnerkrigg>Pleese forgiv the speelings its the Yagers tlaking.>When I was in school my friends and I found a moth during breaktime and proceeded to torture it to death.>It was a giant one. The kind that hangs out on a tree waiting for nightfall. There was a girl we hated. She was crying pleading us to stop.>But we killed it anyway. I think we thought it would impress her. The coldness of it I mean. This guy is....kind of creepy.
>>91952Is there a name for that sort of thing? I like it and I'd like to find more--not necessarily all skulls and death, just optical-illusiony things like that?
>>91952I noticed it when Tom posted the image declaring that it was an optical illusion.
>>91958I saw a lot of this ones in a power point presentation years ago, there is an artist that did a lot of this optical illusions, but I don't recall the name right now.>>91959How did I missed that?
He look, it's Diego!...his nose looked like a goofy smile at first to me.
>>92102>All I have seen of Janine so far is her throwing a bitchy tantrum and whoring around. Clearly she is an inspirational character that girls decades into the future should look up to. the internet has such great opinions on things. especially female characters.
>>92102Diego is disappoint.
>>92102That's not Diego, that's Courtyard Droll. He needs a giant hat.
>>92118or The Penguin
>>92102And /co/ has dubbed Mr Green Genes the John Redcorn of the story.
>>92102Heh. That's not what I expected to see next, but I'll roll with it.
come on diego, dont get jealous, you might turn into a badguy, even creepy dudes can be cool if theyre goodguys
Thread needs more Boxbot hate.
And finally...
Oooohhh yeah!FUCK YOU BOXBOTI'll never understand the forum's obsession with Boxbot.
>>92300Boxbot being terrible is the official forum's own little meme
>>92102honestly I don't understand the logic behind jeanne and green-guy arranging to meet and fool around right outside the court, mid-day, in plain view of anyone on the other side of those giant arched windows. I think it would have been far more interesting to have Jeanne absconding from the court under the cover of night, and meeting green-guy clandestinely in some phosphorescent subterranean hideaway. Discreetly followed, of course, by one of Diego's miniscule surveillance-robots.
>>92359Perhaps they weren't thinking about hiding it all that hard.
>>92320Yeah, but half of the forum kinda sympathize with Boxbot. Which is something I can't agree with them.
>>92359because they are FILTHY EXHIBITIONISTS
there you are with the whole "more mysteries" thing again
>>92653DAVE WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN GUNNERKRIGG COURT
>>92655...oh goddamnit.
>>92653FIRST CD AND NOW DAVE, OKAY NOW HE'S DOING IT ON PURPOSE.
>>92655I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this.
>>92359Maybe Green Guy had some kind of mental control over her.
>>92661>CDWaitwhatwere?
Just leaving this here.
>>92675I really don't want to believe that's true. ): They look so happy together, it would totally ruin the last few pages if it turned out he was controlling her.I guess it's possible Jeanne doesn't know about the surveillance robots, so they don't think there'll be a big chance of being found out. Or Diego hasn't built the surveillance robots yet (but will, because he's a creep and the real reason why they exist is so he can spy on her while she gets it on with a forest spirit).
>>92679Yeah, hypno-rape is too dark even for Tom.
>>92676See >>92102Diego is totally pulling a Courtyard right there.
>>92653She seems to be in pain and that is either because the spirit is mussing with her, its due to piggybacking on another frequency at it were or there is something wrong with that Spirit. He's likely a relative of Coyote or such.. I think this might be an evil one that caused all that shit to go down.
>>92697Parley's in pain because Jeanne's just dumping all of her festering memories and emotions onto her in one go. Which probably includes things like mourning for her lost love, deep-seated feelings of betrayal, and the pain of being shot and falling into a ravine.I initially thought that Parley was crying though, not because it hurt, but because it's a tragic story and she could feel Jeanne's grief. And that makes me sad because now I really want to see what this was all about, but we're probably not going to get a flashback chapter with no Annie and all Jeanne.
Ahahahaha, oh wow.
from regular /co/>HA! It WAS Coyote!>duh
>>93151Is this confirmed? I thought the symbolic implication was that coyote was watching everything from afar (hence the sun and moon "eyes"), not that he was the green guy (does he have a common fanon name?).
The swords represent erections of jealous men.
>>93155Seen people take to calling him Johnny Redcorn due to his obvious not giving a damn who sees the business he is doing.
I really don't think the green guy was Coyote. I could be absolutely wrong, but the guy seems too earnest and sweet-natured. Coyote would be looking down Jeanne's shirt, and would somehow make Diego kick his own ass and fall down three flights of stairs, landing on a gargoyle. I agree, it looks like the sun and moon show him watching, and his markings across the diagonal might represent a no-man's-land between the Court and the Wood, sort of a neutral territory?
Actually I think this might mean that Coyote is entirely at fault for seperation of Court and Woods. The ravine being just the icing on the cake.
What we're seeing here is pic related in progress, abstracted: Coyote's mighty paw tears through the land, separating the Court and the Forest, and with them, Jeanne and Greendude.
http://www.ironcircus.com/proposal.htmllook who's name is on the list at the bottom.everythingwentbetterthenexpected.jpg
>>93385Well, not at the bottom, but yep, there he is.
>>93385Well well, what have we here.Though personally I'm more excited about the people who're already established smut artisans.

>>93387That's an interesting line-up. Art quality will be all over the fucking place.

>>93457although one of the anons expressed interest in anja(kindred spirits)
>>93458That WOULD be pretty neat: a little semi-canonical story about the Donlan's marital escapades. But given the "at least one woman must be involved" thing, I suspect that he'll be drawing someone else's story.
Seriously doubt this'll have any relation to Gunnerkrigg. He doesn't even link to his personal website at the GC site, presumably because it has sexy pixx. This is not one of them.

...JONES IS A CLONE OF JEANNE.Made to be genetically superior in every way, possibly in the event they need a replacement to guard the Annan Waters. With genetic superiority comes increased muscle mass and bone density, leading to increased weight.JEANNE.JONES.IT ALL FITS.
>>94082She must SkullFuck that Skeleton to gain the full measure of her power.
This is gonna end in an ocean of tears.
>>94748"And Archer moves in for the block...AND ITS GOOOOOD!!!!!!" "Lets see that is slow mo Phil.""Well you see Bob, she made a good descent here not too fast, then her movement towards the bank was excellent, look at that steely gaze Bob, she isn't a rookie coming into this. But you see here is where her game fell apart. See! That spark of hope on her face was the turning point in her play." "Right Phil, her forest mate had this lost from the start, good strong strokes across the water but this was not his home turf was it Phil?""Nope Bob, the boy didn't have his head in the game at all, such as love eh?" "Indeed Phil, it can be quite the battlefield."
>>94748First though was "lol that dude just fell face-first into the water."This page is ruined for me, forever.
>>94748I have a sneaking suspicion that that's not her lover.
Theory: They never shot Jean. They either shot the green man or the river itself, and something about what they did to the river trapped Jean there. They needed Jean because they needed bait to get the green man into the river willingly.
>>94813Or maybe they just couldn't get Jean back up so they left her to die.
>>94818Maybe she didn't want to go back.
>>94813You might be on to something there. I checked a few pages from that robot's memory, and it's not explicit that she was shot, merely that she was needed for the plan to work.>>94822That's a solid possibility as well. I know I wouldn't want to go back.I'm wondering now if Jeanne becoming a vengeful spirit was really the point of the Court's plot, or if it was unintended fallout.
>>94833Also, the skeleton in >>88027 looks neatly posed, and not at all like it was just struck by some sort of huge beastly arrow. And at the height that arrow was fired from, it would have to have either struck her head/shoulders or a very glancing blow on her torso.I guess there's maybe it could have hit her back and the green guy posed her? I dunno.
>>94833>it's not explicit that she was shotI've kinda toyed with that idea too, but I can't come up with a more compelling alternative. Whatever the missile was, it wasn't your garden variety arrow--robotic, magical, both?--so maybe it wasn't used to kill anybody at all.
....fuck.
>>94927>>95289...Then again, I've been wrong before...
