I dunno, the tense kept switching back and forth for no apparent reason and there was a lot of unnecessary repetition of words and phrases. It threw me off, and I'm not even a native speaker, I'm not picky.

Is there ANY period appropriate fic out there? Particularly with Malik/Altair? I'm desperately trying to find good fic, but get thrown off by inappropriate vernacular/cultural manners.

Nah, you're exactly right. The middle east for most western fans is a hard culture for us to accept, especially one set in the 12th century. Renaissance Italy is a little closer to home, so it's understandable. But, again, doesn't make exactly for the most immersive fic unfortunately.

Eh, I guess it just comes with it being the biggest OTP of the fandom ( I mean shit, I didn't even play the first game and I ship them like mad.). More shit to sift through to get to the good stuff. I've found some gems here and there, but they are quite few and far between.

And I ship all three pairings (and some mix ups, hurrhurr) but Ezio/Leo is definitely the most sugary sweet of the three. Goddamn, the diabetes.

I think I'm the only person who prefers the first game for actually playing. I've gotten a lot of replay value out of it. (I mean, I'd like to play certain sections from AC2 multiple times, but thanks a lot Ubisoft for not including that option.) You should give it a go sometime, it's dirt cheap these days.

Mmm, not quite. I agree that Leo/Ezio is hugely popular, but Malik/Altair still takes up most of the space in the fandom. I've spent a great deal of time on the kinkmeme and ff.net and other fandom places, and it is the pairing I see the most of. Like, say, 50%. Leo/Ezio takes up 40%. That middle 10% is mostly Shaun/Des, with the other misc pairings in the muddle (4% of it being Lorenzo/Giovanni, pffft)

I plan to play the first game EVENTUALLY, but until then wikipedia and gameplay videos are good enough for now.

I suspect that the mangaka/doujinka for this comic page is Taiwanese, and being Taiwanese myself, I felt obligated to translate it and share it with my fellow AC fans xD Lego's previous translation comes pretty close though, but I guess the mandarin slangs used by Taiwanese could have been confusing for a non-speaker.
