Maybe Ridley could be, like, a kind of megabeast that's on YOUR side? You have no control over him, because he does what he wants.

Make him 2x2 squares instead of 1. Shows just how big and bad he is, plus it means you have to decide. Do you make all your corridors bigger, giving him free roam? Or do you confine him to one or two big rooms, boss rooms if you will.

I'd suggested extracting liquid phazon from phazon-based lifeforms (they'd replace demons ideally, but unfortunately, it seems that you can't mod demons in the DF2010 as they are randomly generated), like venoms in DF, but you can't currently apply them. And i don't know of the way to turn creature (except undead).

The only multi-tile creature is wagon and it's hardcoded. You can't really change the AI in DF as far as i know.

Couldn't you just have two types of tube? Like, cage tube and decorative tube. Make it so the cage tube (which is code-wise just a cage) can only be made out of glass.

The empty shell of baby ridley can be stuffed and used to calm down angry pirates.

updates out, last one for a while

custom weapons for each new race have been added in, a few new creatures, and some balancing with the metals. next update will be a big one.

So a random incinerator drone just sauntered into the forest above my fortress while three different caravans were coming to trade, attacked a zoomer, and then set the forest on fire.
The entire landscape was incinerated.
I lost four Pirates and a kitten in the conflagration.
Then the drones promptly left.
